Do Now:

1. Drop off your sign progress report to the metal basket
2. Pick up your Fairy Tale and Theme Analysis worksheet from the front table (You completed this last Monday)
3. Complete your Word Choice Warm Up #3 (U10)
• Only write your new sentences (5 minutes)
4. Review Stems List #32 (Quiz on Tuesday)

Agenda:

1. In small groups, summarize your fairy tale. 
2. Using your Theme Handouts share your themes. 
3. Pick the best Theme to use.
• Which literary lens did you use to choose your theme? 
4. Using your tables (pick up markers and erasers from boxes), plan your paragraph.

• Lens

• Theme 
• Topic Sentence (Restate and Answer Prompt
• (Prompt: How does the author use symbols or events from the plot to develop the theme of the story?)
• 2 examples
• Explanation of each example
• Concluding Sentence (Summarize- use terms from the topic sentence)
• Each person will write your own paragraph answering the prompt from the handout while using your group planning. On notebook paper. Due tomorrow.

Closing:

• Data Information added to charts
• Work on your paragraph (will be a grade)

• Work on the written portion of your IRP #1
