English II

Put phone away. Your choices are to hang it in the charging pocket holder or in your bag. Phones should not be out or visible during class.
We will read for 10 minutes. After the timer goes off, please mark in your Reading Chart how many pages you read.
After reading, go to your writing section. Today you will complete the practice sentence combining activity on the screen.
After writing, go to IXL. Sign in using NCEdCloud or Clever. We will practice on IXL for 10 minutes.
Organize into your trial novel groups: My Sister's Keeper & The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
You will share your Body Biography with your group members.
Explain your biography and then pass it around the group. Each person will share to his/her group.
Turn in your Body Biography & paragraphs.
We will then review the Standards Checklist you picked up the first day in class. This is a list of most of the standards that are tested on your EOC. You will pre-assess yourself with a B marking each block. Then, we will discuss which standards the Body Biography covered.
Lastly, you will work with your partner finishing your Literary Lens Workbook assignment.(3rd & 4th).
If you finish early, work on: Quill, IXL, reading, or Actively Learn due Thursday.

Literary Lens or Critical Literary Theory Workbook presentation on Wednesday, January 15.
Stems Quiz on List #31 Tuesday, January 28. Must memorize and spell correctly all items in the () on the sheet or use the Quizlet app.
Actively Learn Article due Thursday, January 16 @ 3:45pm
IXL (Use your Clever/NCEdCloud log in to access) Diagnostic due Jan. 24
