After finishing the packet, you and a partner (mostly everyone) will be assigned a reading and a literary theory. You will work together to read the notes about the critical lens and complete the assignment on the digital workbook. You will present together on Wednesday in class.

For homework, you should have watched the Syllabus Intro Video

Turn in completed contact/contract form to the metal basket.
Turn in interest survey to the black basket.
Pick up the Close Reading and Annotating handout from the front table.
Log on to your Chromebook. Go to IXL. Log in using Clever (NCEdCloud). There is also an app available to download and use.

We will do IXL on Tuesdays after Sentence Combining. (This is a change from Read Theory. You must complete the diagnostic by January 24.)

In your Notebook, in the Reading Section, create a chart for tracking your reading and setting goals.
We will begin reading on Monday. You should have your first IRP novels assigned tomorrow. You can choose to read your IRP novel or any novel of your choosing. Due dates for the IRP elements are posted in Google Classroom.

As you enter the room, look for the color on the back of your sticker that corresponds with the appropriate station.
You will be moving around, so please place all bags out of the way.
You will need: pen/pencil, notebook or folder for handouts, Chromebook, & your phone for 1 station only. Your phone will not be out any other time except for station #2.
Do not touch or open folders until I tell you to do so.
Before you leave each station, make sure your table is clean and organized for the next rotation.
You will have 14 minutes to complete each station and 1 minute for rotations.
Anything not completed in class is for homework.
