We will read for 10 minutes. After the timer goes off, let's calculate an avg # of pages read for 1 hour. Using this data, set a goal to get your IRP novel finished by February 7 since your essay is due February 20.
I have some new novels available to check out. See me if you are interested.
After reading, go to your writing section. Voice: Imagery 10 minutes.
In small groups, use the poster paper to create a visual representation of Elie's change from Chapter 1-4 on 1 of the topics from last night's homework. (Faith, Hope, Family, Physical Appearance, Misc 1, & Misc 2)
On your chart, you will create a visual representation of Elie, use at least 3 examples of text supporting your decision, and write a thesis statement.
Your thesis statement will follow this pattern: Elie's _____ changes between Chapter 1 and Chapter 4 in Night from _____ to _____ because _______.
If we have time, groups will present their findings to the class.
